Jimmy Eat World At Track 29
Author & Photographer Kari Thomas:
3/7/17 Throw back Tuesday, AJJ opens at Track 29 for the trusty Jimmy Eat World reminding us good music is still out there.
I want to start off by saying the opener was on stage early and counted us down to 9pm as
both bands were on a time crunch to be in New Orleans, LA at noon following the show.
That did not deter either band from putting on one hell of a show.
The Opener AJJ was new to Chattanooga out of Phoenix, AZ and made many fans this night as they were super quirky and interacted well with the audience, singer also came out and talk with the crowd after the set.
I always admire those who take the time to meet and greet in a new venue and or town they come to. Lasting impressions are everything these days. Although they looked as though they were about to break out the wash boards and banjos this little humble group of guys ROCKED. They are currently touring the West Coast so make sure to check them out.
As for Jimmy Eat World, they did not disappoint for sure, Start to finish they played a great set. Talked a while to the crowd, I was really entertained and they did a great job reliving an entire era and showing us that they still have it with some newer songs that everyone seemed to also enjoy just as much. I have to say that seeing bands live that are still at it and still showing that music is very much alive and still kicking without the drama of the I am too BIG for this hole definitely makes a weekday show. They are also currently touring so make sure you see these guys, show them some love. Thanks again Revelator.com and Pit Magazine for the opportunity to photograph some real talented artist in my hometown on a weekday.
