Smile Empty Soul Interview & Photos
I had a chance to sit down with Sean Danielsen the founder of Smile Empty Soul on Revelator #193. Sean and I dug into a little of the early days of SES before getting signed in the early 2000s. Sean explains the hard times of selling and buying into shows in the LA music scene.
Sean also hints at the early success of the band. When asked about the state of the music industry and the value of a band Sean said” Can I swear?” Well, it’s just fucked”.
Speaking with Sean before the bands final show of 2016, Sean talks about playing these acoustic shows and choosing songs that do or don’t translate live. Sean, talks about the song “Just One Place” & “No Where Kids” that he thought would be a part of the acoustic show but did not make the set list.
Sean and I talk about Weird –Al a song while traveling on the tour. Sean goes blasting on Papa Roach. This is my Blast Resort! I like the fact he turned the song “This is my Last Resort” about taking a big #2.
Along with two solo albums, Sean talks to me about the Rarities album set for release this March 10th... The album will feature a bunch of unreleased SES songs.
