Dope "Blood Money Part 1" Album Review by Reyka from Death Valley High

Dope has returned with a new album and these slashers have delivered some fiyah. "Blood Money, Part 1" starts off with some industrial strength riffing and the Sonics are searingly satisfying. "Shoulda Known Better" has a bit of playfulness that even reminds me of my own band!

Moving on... The band's performances are tight but thankfully things never get too busy. That's not to say they don't effortlessly showcase some technical knowhow; there's some ingenuity on every track. Every now and again, the album favors a bit of commercialism but normally within good fun. The noise track "X-Hale" will rope in even the most judgmental of tastes.

The album winds down with a number that sounds like it was remixed by Nero. It seriously sounds custom fit for an Underworld movie! Backing that ass up, a fun little cover of Hole appears for a bonus ending and rings in some 90s nostalgia. Without a doubt, I'm feeling this effort and think you should give it a shot if you like your metal with a blast of industrial/electro sounds capes. On a personal note, I'll finish with the notion that I think we'd be good touring grimmies;)!

Thanks again grimmie! Stoked I got to be one of the first to hear this record! Cheers,
